Latest nekoJB update significantly improves reliability of kfd exploit with puaf_landa

The kernel file descriptor (kfd) exploit-based nekoJB jailbreak tool for arm64 devices (A9-A11) running iOS or iPadOS 15.0-15.8 picked up another update this week, this time bringing the tool up to version 0.1.0 beta 5.

HAHALOSAH announces nekoJB v0.1.0 beta 5 with kfd exploit improvements.

Project lead developer HAHALOSAH shared the latest build via both the Discord server and via a post on X (formerly Twitter), noting that it should drastically boost the exploit reliability of kfd with the puaf_landa method.

While your mileage may vary, the developer says that the exploit is working “nearly every time” for them, which based on kfd’s success rate reputation, sounds like a particularly good improvement.

For the above mentioned reason, we highly recommend that existing users download and use the latest version. The same can be said about new or prospective users. Those already using nekoJB can just download the latest .ipa file and install it over their existing installation and then re-jailbreak for the changes to take effect.

While A9-A11 devices have long already been jailbreakable by way of the palera1n tool, which utilizes the unpatchable checkm8 hardware-based bootrom exploit, nekoJB offers a slightly more convenient user experience in that it’s semi-untethered instead of semi-tethered, which means you don’t need a computer to return to a jailbroken state following a reboot.

It’s also worth noting that palera1n users could semi-untether their jailbreak with the meowbrek2 re-jailbreaking utility, but nekoJB is an all-inclusive option that even those who’ve never used palera1n before can take advantage of.

If you’re interested in trying the latest version of nekoJB, then the best place to get started is by joining the project’s Discord server. There, you will find an .ipa that you can perma-sign with TrollStore. You will also be able to access the latest version of the tool from the developer’s website below when it gets uploaded:
