Nomad embraces in-car accessories with new charging & non-charging mounts and compact 70W GaN USB-C car charger

Our friends over at Nomad have been releasing new products left and right lately, and today, they’re introducing new products made especially for use in the car, including charging integrated mounts, basic mounts, and a 70W USB-C charger.

Topping today’s new releases is the Qi wireless charging integrated mount, which can charge any MagSafe-equipped device.

This device features a Qi wireless charging coil instead of a MagSafe charging puck, so iPhones are limited to charging speeds of 7.5W, while other brands of smartphones can charge at up to 15W.

Nomad’s new charging-integrated mount is sleek in nature, comprised of polycarbonate body, glass panel, soft-touch silicone magnetic mount, and silicone-wrapped vent attachment.

The company also includes an 18W car charger and a 1-meter USB-C to USB-C Sport cable so that you can power the unit and anything you attach to it.

Nomad’s charging-integrated mount is available from Nomad’s website starting today for $80.

A step down from the charging integrated mount is Nomad’s new basic mount, which looks and feels just like the product discussed above, sans the charging capabilities.

Nomad’s new car mount is constructed of polycarbonate, glass, and soft-touch silicone and is everything you need to keep your iPhone visible during a drive, such as to monitor turn-by-turn navigation directions on the road.

Nomad 70W Car Charger

Mounts aside, Nomad is also introducing a powerful new device charger for the car that plugs into any 12v power port and cranks out a massive 70W of power to charge your laptops and tablets.

This beastly charger is incredibly compact thanks to GaN technology and features dual USB-C ports. In fact, Nomad says it measures 33mm x 33mm x 86.3mm.

When the one blue port of the Nomad 70W car charger is in use, it delivers the full 70W of power, but when using both ports, the blue port provides 50W and the black port provides 20W.

These power metrics are perfect for charging a small laptop and perhaps even an iPad or iPad Pro. Of course, you can also charge other things, such as Nintendo Switch, smartphones, or anything else that the USB-C.
