Jailbreak news of the week: Apple unsigns iOS 17.0.3, bakera1n v3.0, Legizmo Lighthouse, & more…

The iDB crew covers iPhone & iPad jailbreaking from the moment news strikes to those deep analyses and tutorials that you need in between your fix of jailbreak tweak releases, and we do it week in and week out.

Weekly jailbreak news roundup.

In this piece, we’ll round up all the latest jailbreaking and hacking news & info spanning the week of Monday, October 30th to Sunday, November 5th to ensure you don’t miss any important tidbits regarding your favorite past time hobby.

So if you’re ready to see what’s new, let’s dive right in.

Important stuff from this week

iOS & iPadOS 17.0.3 unsigned

iOS 17 downgrade firmware.

Apple just this week stopped signing iOS & iPadOS 17.0.3 in a move intended to halt downgrades from the newer iOS & iPadOS 17.1 firmware. Interestingly, iOS & iPadOS 17.0.2 are still signed.

While there is no jailbreak for newer devices running iOS or iPadOS 17, some older checkm8 exploit-vulnerable iPads can be jailbroken with palera1n, which makes this relevant still.

You can learn more about this in our full news post.

Legizmo Lighthouse

Legizmo Lighthouse banner.

The new Legizmo Lighthouse jailbreak tweak allows those who want an Apple Watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 or any other watchOS 10 Apple Watch to pair that device with a jailbroken iOS 13, 14, 15, or 16 device without having to upgrade to iOS 17 and lose their jailbreak for good.

The tweak makes the pairing process simple and helps bridge support for as many new features to the unsupported iPhone firmware as possible so that you don’t even notice that you’re running off of a hack.

bakera1n v3.0 released

Bakera1n version 3.0 released.

The developer behind the kok3shi jailbreak has been working on an alternative to palera1n called bakera1n that works with A8-A11 chip-equipped devices running iOS & iPadOS 15 and later, and it was updated this week to version 3.0.

This jailbreak, just like palera1n, is a rootless jailbreak. It’s only intended for developers, however.

You can find out more about bakera1n and the latest update via the developer’s GitHub page.

SilentKeyPods

Keyboard shortcuts for the Apple Music app

You can keep your keyboard from clicking and popping while you type when you use a set of AirPods or Bluetooth headphones with the SilentKeyPods jailbreak tweak.

With it, you can enjoy your music or video playback without any interference noise from the keyboard, but keyboard clicks will still play when you don’t use your AirPods or Bluetooth headphones, which I like better than disabling keyboard clicks completely via iOS’ stock settings.

You can learn more about SilentKeyPods and where you can get it from in our full review post.

InCircle Theme for MacDirtyCow & kfd

InCircle Theme for MacDirtyCow and kfd exploits.

The new InCircle Theme for the MacDirtyCow & kfd exploits for iOS & iPadOS 15.0-16.1.2 and 16.0-16.6 beta 1 respectively brings a new dimension of aesthetics to your iPhone or iPad without a jailbreak.

Available in both light mode and dark mode-friendly options, InCircle Theme uses modern aesthetics paired with a circular overlay for app icons on the Home Screen.
