Nanoleaf Essentials Matter GU10 light bulbs & Downlights now available for pre-order

I enjoy a nicely-lit home as much as the next guy, but I really like taking things over the top with some kind of iPhone-controlled smart light, and Nanoleaf tends to be my go-to when it comes to that kind of stuff. Fortunately, Nanoleaf is launching new Essentials Matter Smart Lightning products this week that are sure to elevate your smart home.

Take your lighting to the next level

As you might come to expect, these devices are Matter-compatible, and work perfectly with Apple HomeKit so that you can toggle lights on or off from your iPhone’s Home app, change their color, or adjust their color temperature. Whether you’re trying to add ambient light to a room, or make the house more fun for the kids, there’s no better choice.

The first of Nanoleaf’s new Essentials Matter Smart Lightning products is the Essentials Matter GU10, which is a type of light bulb that generally goes into sockets above your range/stove in the kitchen or special fixture lights in the living room. These lights are typically plain white, but with Nanoleaf’s touch, you can go full RGB with them or change the color temperature in white mode on demand.Nanoleaf GU10 Essentials Matter light bulb.

The GU10 bulbs join an existing family of A19 and Lightstrip-style lights from Nanoleaf, which means that they can complement your existing home lighting with the same ambient lighting color scheme to give your home a complete look and feel.

For certain other rooms, such as the living room, Nanoleaf’s new Essentials Matter Recessed Downlight might be a better choice. These lights tuck away into pockets in the ceiling to provide a flush aesthetic that does away with the clunkiness of external light fixtures, all while maintaining the same smart capabilities you’d come to expect from a Matter and HomeKit-compatible light.

Nanoleaf didn’t stop today by just announcing new light bulbs for smart homes – they also partnered with a brand called Umbra to create a new smart lamp collection to help complete your home’s interior design.

Nanoleaf says that their new Cono portable lamp and Cup lamp are the “first ever” table lamps to feature Matter compatibility, which is a huge step in the right direction with respect to smart homes. These thoughtfully-designed smart lamps sit on your tabletop and offer the same Matter and HomeKit connectivity features that you’d expect from a brand like Nanoleaf, and yet they look abstractly interesting to give your home a unique look.

Even if you’re not using an iPhone, which we’re sure most of our fellow iDB family is, you might be happt to know that Nanoleaf’s latest lights all work seamlessly with competing Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings platforms.

If you’re interested, then you can head over to Nanoleaf’s website to check out the newest Essentials Matter Smart Lighting products, or head over to Umbra’s website to see the new Nanoleaf partnership table lamps with Matter support. All products are now available for pre-order.
