If you’re accustomed to seeing the ‘slide to answer’ interface in the incoming phone call interface on your iPhone, then you’ll be relieved to know that CallSilent lets you both mute and decline that call by following one of two different methods:

  1. Flipping your iPhone upside down; or
  2. Tapping under the side to answer slider

The first flip mutes the phone call, while a second flip declines the phone call. The video demonstration above shared by the developer provides a brief presentation of this functionality.

These simple gestures replace the stock functions, which are pressing either of the volume buttons or the lock button once to mute the phone call or pressing the lock button twice to decline the phone call. In essence, CallSilent offers faster and easier ways to decline a call than stock iOS does.

Once installed, users will also find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where they’re able to configure the tweak to their liking:

CallSilent options to configure.

Things you can do here include:

  • Enabling or disabling CallSilent on demand
  • Enabling or disabling iPhone flipping to mute or decline phone calls
  • Enabling or disabling tapping under the side to answer slider to mute or decline phone calls
  • Respringing your device to save any changes you’ve made

According to the developer, CallSilent has been tested on more than 500 incoming phone calls prior to release and has effectively worked every time. The tweak currently supports all jailbroken iPhones running iOS 14, 15, and 16, including rootless jailbreaks like Dopamine and palera1n.

If you’re interested in giving CallSilent a try, then you can purchase a copy of your own from the Havoc repository for $0.99 via your favorite package manager app.
