Dark mode applies to several facets of the iOS mobile operating system, except for those inconvenient places where it doesn’t. One of those places would be the AirPods pairing interface, which includes several different makes and models of AirPods from the standard ones to the noise cancelling AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.
iOS developer iCraze set out to fix this problem by releasing a new and no-nonsense jailbreak tweak called DarkPods, which as the name suggests, applies a dark mode aesthetic to the AirPods pairing interface on your iPhone so that it falls better in line with your display settings.
As you can see for yourself in the before (left) and after (right) screenshot examples above, DarkPods makes the interface look better. There’s simply no other way to put it – when you turn on dark mode, you should be able to assume that all parts of the operating system will apply, not just one here and one there.
Since AirPods are one of Apple’s best-selling products, it’s somewhat surprising that Apple didn’t pay much attention to this interface when adding the finishing touches to the user interface; fortunately, the jailbreak community is here once again to pick up where Apple failed.
With no options to configure, DarkPods is a simple install-and-go jailbreak tweak. Those interested in giving it a try can download it for free from iCraze’s personal repository via their favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 15 and 16 devices, including rootless jailbreaks such as Dopamine and palera1n.
