Violet Pro can give Siri on your jailbroken iPhone a lot more character

Back in October of 2022, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called Violet that allowed you to customize your pwned iPhone’s Siri interface such that it would have a custom background, and it even provided a more aesthetically-pleasing welcome screen every time you would pick up and use your device. More desirably, Violet replaced the traditional Siri presence with one of your liking, which could have been a person or character to behave as your personal assistant.

This week, iOS developer MatoiDev has released Violet Pro, which is apparently a complete re-write of the Violet jailbreak tweak, albeit with support for rootless jailbreaks on iOS 15 and 16. More than that, however, Violet Pro adds support for animated background images, which was a popularly requested feature for the original that never came to fruition until just now.

Many of the same features you know and love from the original Violet tweak are present in Violet Pro, and that’s one reason why we’d like to refer you to our original review to learn more about the kinds of configuration that you can come to expect from Violet Pro. Try to keep in mind, however, that Violet Pro is a more advanced tweak that offers more features.

The features of Violet Pro cover not only Siri, but also the welcome screen you’ll see every time you unlock your iPhone. This ensures that you feel like you’re being greeted by an entity every time you go to use your iPhone.

Among some of the highlights of Violet Pro are:

  • Being able to change the appearance of your Siri interface
  • Choose from 19 different blur effects
  • Set the welcome screen that will trigger every time you unlock your device
  • Optionally remove the standard Siri orb
  • And so much more…

We’d like to reiterate that Violet Pro is a complete re-write. The new features including rootless jailbreak support and animated background image support are important to mention because they’re home runs when compared to the original. Moreover, the developer says that resprings aren’t necessary to save changes because they happen at runtime.

The developer notes in the /r/jailbreak release post that they’re actively working on future updates to Violet Pro and that an extension will be out soon. One of those feature updates will include rootful jailbreak support, as the latest release only currently supports rootless jailbreaks such as Dopamine and palera1n.

For now, the package is on sale for $0.99 from the Havoc repository via any package manager app and will eventually go back up to $1.99 when the sale ends. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 15 and 16 devices only.
