Tappy now available via repository, fully open source, and supports rootless jailbreaks

Around three months ago, we showed you a jailbreak tweak called Tappy by iOS developer b4db1r3 that would let you tap on the Status Bar’s time indicator to reveal a date display, and it was a hit.

Just this week, Tappy received an update ensuring that it’s both rootful and rootless jailbreak compatible, but also made it available via a jailbreak repository instead of via a website download link.

As we showed you originally, Tappy would display the date after tapping on the Status Bar’s time indicator, and it would quickly return to the time automatically after just a few moments without any action required by the end user.

For those random instances in life where you might be trying to enter the date on a website form or something else, it’s an invaluable tool to have, and especially if you don’t have an Apple Watch to glance at.

Tappy is fully open source on the developer’s GitHub page and supports jailbroken iOS 14, 15, and 16 devices. If you’re interested in trying it out for yourself, then you can download it for free form b4db1r3’s repository via your favorite package manager app.

Not using b4db1r3’s repository yet? No problem. You can add it to your package manager by using the URL provided below:
