The new Pride-themed Apple Watch band, watch face and wallpaper were designed to seamlessly blend and are available starting next week.
- Ahead of LGBT Pride Month in June, Apple has unveiled a Pride Edition Apple Watch band, watch face and Pride-themed wallpaper.
- The watch face animates when you raise your wrist, and the wallpaper moves when you unlock the phone.
- Every June, Pride Month celebrates lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride, promoting dignity, equality and increased visibility of LGBTQ people.
The new Pride Edition watch band, face and wallpaper
The new Pride Edition band for the Apple Watch showcases the pride flag rainbow colors and five others. According to the company, black and brown symbolize Black and Latin communities, plus those who died from or are living with HIV/AIDS. Light blue, pink and white represent transgender and nonbinary individuals.
The matching watch face and wallpaper with their colorful shapes seem like they’re circulating into the Apple Watch display from the band. When you raise the watch or tap the display, the watch face animates. Curiously, Apple says that the Pride Edition wallpaper “dynamically moves” when you unlock your iPhone.

Why is Apple doing this?
Through these efforts, Apple supports and brings awareness to LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations that are working to bring about positive change, including Equality Federation Institute, an advocacy accelerator that is building a network of state-based LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations in the US, and GLSEN, an education organization working to end discrimination, harassment and bullying based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
And this:
Additional advocacy organizations Apple supports include Encircle, Equality North Carolina, Equality Texas, Gender Spectrum, Human Rights Campaign, ILGA World, the National Center for Transgender Equality, PFLAG, SMYAL, and The Trevor Project.
This isn’t the first time Apple has honored LGBTQ+ this way. Ahead of every June, the Cupertino company releases special-edition watch bands, wallpapers and other Pride-themed perks.
