If you’ve ever wanted to do more with the aesthetics are various user interfaces found on your jailbroken iPhone or iPad, then a free jailbreak tweak called Marie by iOS developers Luki120 and Ben216k might be of interest to you.
Marie allows users to set a unique background for three different interfaces, including the passcode entry screen, the Phone app’s dialer interface, and the native iOS Share Sheet. Shown above, you can see custom backgrounds as they’re applied to the passcode entry screen and the Phone app’s dialer interface.
As you can see, the selected background appears as the wallpaper for the entire display, acting as a background not only for the number buttons, but also for any tabs that might be at the bottom of the interface. The image you choose is completely up to you, as you can find any image you want on the internet and then use it with Marie.
Once installed, Marie adds a dedicated preference pane to the Settings app where you can configure the tweak however you want:
Here, you can:
- Enable or disable Marie on demand
- Choose a Phone app dialer image for Dark Mode
- Choose a Passcode image for Dark Mode
- Choose a Share Sheet image for Dark Mode
- Choose a Phone app dialer image for Light Mode
- Choose a Passcode image for Light Mode
- Choose a Share Sheet image for Light Mode
- Delete all images to reset to defaults
Customizing these interfaces may seem like nails on a chalkboard for minimalists, but if you like the idea of adding an additional layer of customization to often-ignored user interfaces in iOS, then Marie will be right up your alley.
Those interested in giving Marie a try can download it for free from Luki120’s personal repository. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14, 15, and 16 devices.
