Our videographer Harris Craycraft (@_craycraft) took it upon himself to walk you guys through some of the basic steps after buying a new pair of AirPods Pro 2.

This includes pairing your earbuds, changing some of the default settings and configuring touch controls. He then details Apple’s new, redesigned charging case which now supports MagSafe chargers (in addition to Qi ones and wired charging via Lighting, like before) and is compatible with Find My.

Lastly, the video covers ways to check the charge level of the earbuds and the case itself, which now reports its battery charge to iOS’s Batteries widget without AirPods inside. Harris also tells you everything you need to know about your charging options, as well as how to reset the earbuds and pair them with another device.

The key features of AirPods Pro 2

Apple unveiled the second-generation AirPods Pro at its September 7 event.

The $249 earbuds are powered by Apple’s new headphone chip, dubbed “H2” which delivers up to 2x more active noise cancellation, an enhanced transparency mode, six hours of battery life (30 with the case) and other perks.

They ship with an improved charging case that has a built-in speaker and Apple’s U1 chip for Find My compatibility—now you can use this service to locate a misplaced or lost charging case independently of each earbud.

Keep in mind that two features of the new AirPods Pro—personalized spatial audio profiles and locating a case via Find My—will remain unavailable on iPad and Mac until iPadOS 16.1 and macOS Ventura arrive sometime in October.

How to buy AirPods Pro 2

AirPods Pro 2 have been available since Friday, September 23, for $249 in the United States—the same as their predecessor. You can purchase yours from Apple via apple.com or the company’s official Apple Store shopping app [App Store link].

When buying a pair in the app, you can add Memoji engraving to the case for free. And in a typical Apple fashion, your Memoji engraving is visible on a rotating virtual case that appears when you set up your AirPods Pro for the first time.
