ProfilePicker forces the Netflix app to remember your selected user account

One of the best ways for cable-cutters to enjoy TV shows and movies is Netflix, and the service offers user profiles so each person in a family can have their own personally-tailored recommendations and user experience separate from everyone else’s.

As great as this is, one thing that bugs me from time to time is how the Netflix app forgets I’m me, prompting me to choose a user from my account every time I launch the app and pass the splash screen.

Anyone as annoyed by this as me will appreciate a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called ProfilePicker by iOS developer rob311, as the tweak compels the Netflix app to remember the user profile you choose indefinitely.

Once installed, you only to need to select a user profile once, and Netflix continues to remember your selection rather than asking in the future who’s using your account; as if it wasn’t already obvious…

Since the tweak is intended for those who use Netflix on their own device, we don’t recommend using it if you continuously share your handset with somebody else, as this tweak will prevent that person from choosing their own user account. That said, it’s best for personal devices, not shared ones.

If you’re interested in giving the new ProfilePicker tweak a try, then you can download it for free from rob311’s personal repository via your favorite package manager app. The tweak supports jailbroken iOS 14 devices with the official Netflix app installed on them.

Those not already taking full advantage of rob311’s repository can add it to their package manager app of choice by using the URL provided below:

Please note that while ProfilePicker supports the latest version of the Netflix app, which at the time of this writing is 14.44.0, any future update could break the tweak, requiring the developer to update ProfilePicker.
