Are Beats Flex truly wireless headphones?

In a word, no. Unlike the AirPods which have no wire between the individual earbuds, the Beats Flex do have a wire featuring durable Nitinol construction to connect them. As a bonus, you’ll also get four ear tip options for a personalized fit.

What’s to like about the Beats Flex?

As for the key features, the Beats Flex offer impressive battery life, with Apple claiming up to twelve hours of music playback on a single charge. A quick ten-minute charge is enough to give you an additional 1.5 hours of music playback. Because they’re equipped with Apple’s W1 chip, the Beats Flex not only instantly pair and switch between your Apple devices but also feature Find My integration and support audio sharing. They’re equipped with magnets, which lets you easily coil them up into a pocket or purse without the cord getting tangled.

Pricing and availability

Released back in December 2020 at a launch price of $50 per pair, the Beats Flex became the first Apple product to fall victim to coronavirus-induced component shortages. The following year, Apple jacked up the Beats Flex price to $70, a $20 increase over the original asking price. The Beats Flex earphones are available from Apple.com, its authorized retailers and sellers such as Amazon.com and others.

They come in four colors: Flame Blue, Beats Black, Smoke Gray and Yuzu Yellow.
