Refurbished iPad Air 4 models now available to buy from Apple

The turnaround time on Apple offering refurbished products is typically pretty quick. It’s not right away by any means, but usually interested parties don’t have to wait too long before they can pick up a refurbished Apple-branded product for a bit less than its newer counterpart. And sometimes the wait is a bit longer.

As first noted today by MacRumors, Apple has finally gotten around to offering up the fourth-generation iPad Air as a refurbished option via its online storefront. Yes, this is the model that launched in 2020. There are several different color options to choose from: Space Gray, Silver, Sky Blue, Rose Gold, and Blue.

However, there’s only Wi-Fi options to choose from. No Wi-Fi and cellular just yet. However, you can choose between 64GB or 256GB, depending on your needs.

As is par for the course, going with a refurbished option means you’ll save some money compared to paying the full retail price. In this case, you can save between $80 and $100, depending on which model you decide to buy. The least expensive models costs $469, while the most expensive will set you back $599.

The 4th generation iPad Air is a solid choice for anyone looking to pick up a new, less expensive tablet. The A14 processor under the hood will manage most tasks just fine.

As for what you get with the refurbished model, that includes a new outer shell, a brand new battery, and are coupled with a one-year warranty. Plus:

  • Full functional testing, genuine Apple part replacements (if necessary), and a thorough cleaning
  • The original Operating System or a more recent version
  • All refurbished devices are repackaged in a brand new box with all accessories and cables

So, good news for anyone who wants a slightly less expensive iPad, and don’t mind opting for a slightly older –and refurbished– model.
