The upcoming Apple TV+ show “The New Look” is all about the Dior vs Chanel fashion rivalry

The upcoming new Apple TV+ drama series hailing from Apple Studios, entitled “The New Look,” follows one of the fashion industry’s great rivalries: Dior vs Chanel.

Apple TV+ bags WWII-era thriller series “The New Look”

Billed as a World War II-era thriller, “The New Look” centers around one of the great fashion rivalries: Christian Dior vs. Coco Chanel. During that time, Paris was in the epicenter of the fashion industry. It was a time when Christian Dior and Coco Chanel ruled the game. Christian Dior will be played by Emmy Award winner Ben Mendelsohn, with Academy Award winner Juliette Binoche portraying the grand dame Coco Chanel.

Apple TV+ today announced a series order for “The New Look,” an epic thriller set against the World War II Nazi occupation of Paris when Coco Chanel’s reign as the world’s most famous fashion designer ends and Christian Dior rises helping return spirit and life to the world with his groundbreaking, iconic imprint of beauty and influence that will go on to define generations to come.

“The New Look” is inspired by true events and filmed exclusively in Paris, France.

Apple says the interwoven saga will include the surprising stories of Dior’s contemporaries and rivals, such as Balmain, Balenciaga, Givenchy, Pierre Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent and others. Read: How to watch Apple Music TV on all your devices

Written, executive produced and directed by Todd A. Kessler (”Bloodline,” “Damages,” “The Sopranos”), the new show will be produced by Apple Studios and Mark A. Baker (“Bloodline,” “The Night Of,” “Damages”). It’s being written, executive produced and directed by Todd A. Kessler (”Bloodline,” “Damages,” “The Sopranos”).

When will “The New Look” stream on Apple TV+

This new Apple TV+ drama series will mark Apple’s first production from the newly-formed television producing partnership of Lorenzo di Bonaventura (“Transformers,” “Salt”) and Todd A.
