Substitute updated to v2.2.3 with minor bug fixes

It would be a good idea for jailbreakers who take advantage of the Substitute tweak injection method to open their preferred package manager and refresh their sources this morning.

Substitute, which is now actively maintained by Sam Bingner for users of the checkra1n and unc0ver jailbreaks, appears to have been updated overnight to version 2.2.3 with minor bug fixes. Today’s update comes almost a month after the most recent update, which prevented injecting into BlastDoor services by default.

Based on the details in the change log for the v2.2.3 update, it seems like the most significant change involves a bug fix pertaining to Corellium-specific regression on iOS 12 devices.

While the update doesn’t specifically list any other changes, developers tend to fix odds and ends throughout their code when publishing minor updates like these. For that reason, the update is recommended for all existing users.

If you’re currently using Cydia Substrate on your jailbreak, then you can effortlessly switch to Substitute if you wish to use it instead. Substitute offers the added benefit of a configurable app where you can change your tweak injection settings and report bugs to the developer more easily.
