The Fraggles return in ‘Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock’ on January 21, 2022, on Apple TV+

Way, way back in May of 2020, it was confirmed that Apple had secured the streaming rights to the family-friendly The Fraggles. That meant the streaming service could not only showcase old episodes of the series, but also work on brand new content, too.

That started with Fraggle Rock: Rock On!, which debuted on the streaming service not too long after the initial announcement. And Apple TV+ isn’t giving up on the puppets and their rock music just yet. Today, the company has confirmed that a brand new series coming to the service. It is set to debut on January 21, 2022.

And we have a trailer, which you can watch above.

In today’s announcement, Apple says that the new series will reunite Fraggle favorites like Boober, Wembley, Uncle Travelling Matt, Gobo, and Red. They will be playing a lot of music on their brand new adventure, which will take place over the course of 13 brand new episodes.

The nitty gritty regarding the new Fraggle Rock content:

‘Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock’ is executive produced by The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson and Halle Stanford, and longtime Henson collaborator John Tartaglia. Matt Fusfeld and Alex Cuthbertson, who serve as showrunners, also executive produce as well as New Regency’s Yariv Milchan and Michael Schaefer. Co-executive producers are Dave Goelz and Karen Prell, and executive music producer is Harvey Mason Jr. The series is produced by Ritamarie Peruggi.

The description of the new series is pretty short. But it says all the aforementioned Fraggles will go on some “epic, hilarious adventures” about “the magic that happens when we celebrate and care for our interconnected world.”

Either way, if you’re a fan of the Fraggles, and all their music and what not, then this looks like it will be quite a bit of fun.
