M. Night Shyamalan, who executive produces the series Servant for Apple TV+, has a plan for the thriller. It appears that he might actually have the chance to pull it off, too. To get there, we’ll need to wait for the third season premiere, which is slated to happen at the beginning of 2022.
And to help build excitement, Apple TV+ –and Shyamalan– are teasing the upcoming season premiere. They’ve both released the same teaser trailer out into the wild, showing off just enough regarding the upcoming third season to whet the appetite. Of course, for fans of the show it will probably be more than enough, but whether or not it can sway would-be viewers remains to be seen.
Especially considering we have no idea what Apple’s viewer numbers are for its Apple TV+ films, shows, and documentaries.
As for that aforementioned plan, Shyamalan tweeted out along with the teaser trailer that he wants to tell the full story of Servant in 40 episodes. The third season will consist of episodes 21 through 30, according to Shyamalan. The teaser itself is just over a minute in length.
Servant tells the story of a young couple who are rocked by a tragedy that causes a rift to form between them. In an effort to help with some of that, they bring in a woman to help care for their newborn child. However, nefarious things start to happen, and it’s revealed that the tragedy has made it possible for a “mysterious force” to enter their home.
The thriller stars Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under), Rupert Grint (the Harry Potter franchise), and Nell Tiger Free (Game of Thrones).
Season 3 of Servant will premiere on January 21, 2022. Apple TV+ is only bringing the first episode of the third season for the premiere date, with each subsequent episode set to debut each following Friday until the 10-episode arc is complete.
If you’ve been keeping up with Servant so far, how do you like it? Are you looking forward to the third season?
