Welcome to a new edition of our Apps of the Week roundup. This week we have a simple, yet elegant link-saver, a 3D avatar creator and a fun app for finding a place to eat. And as always, we’ve got a great game for you to check out this weekend.
LinkBin
Save links in just a few seconds and easily reference them later, with LinkBin. It differs from Pocket and other ‘read it later’ solutions in that it’s very simple, focused and elegant. It also syncs via iCloud and works well with the Shortcuts app. You can save links by pasting them into the app, or by using the Share sheet.
in3D: Avatar Creator & Animator
Now this is cool! A quick body scan using the app and your device’s camera will create a photorealistic 3D avatar. You can then use that avatar to try-on clothes, create wacky animations, and you can even export your model in GLB and FBX formats so it can be used in games like GTA V.
FoodSwipr
It’s definitely a first world problem to have trouble picking a place to eat. But if you fall in that category, or maybe find yourself in a new area and want to browse the local spots, FoodSwipr is here to help. The card-style app lets you browse through restaurants with photos, ratings, prices and more.
Slender: The Arrival
Fit for the month of Halloween, we have the official video game adaptation of Slender Man for mobile. The graphics are beautiful, yet dark, and there’s a robust storyline. Other features include controller support, online leaderboards and achievements to unlock. See what GameSpot called “one of the most terrifying games in recent memory.”
