“Ghosted” starring Evans and Johansson headed to Apple TV+

Deadline describes “Ghosted” as a high-profile original film, billed as a romantic action-adventure, directed by Dexter Fletcher. “Deadpool” and “Zombieland” writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are apparently working on the script, which is obviously great news.

“The stars are in advanced negotiations,” the publication reported.

This comes at an interesting time for Johansson, who like you very well know is currently entangled in a lawsuit with Disney over releasing her Marvell flick “Black Widow” as a premium purchase on the Disney+ streaming service, robbing her of potential box office revenue. As Johansson recently birthed a child, it’s unclear when she might return to work.

Consequentially, a start date for “Ghosted” seems to currently be in flux.

Apple TV+ will get lots of premium content this fall and beyond, including the Martin Scorsese-directed “Killers of the Flower Moon”, the Will Smith and Antoine Fuqua film “Emancipation” and “Kitbag,” directed by Ridley Scott in which Joaquin Phoenix portrays Napoleon Bonaparte and Jodie Comer his wife Josephine.

Moreover, the company recently announced that writer, producer, director and advocate Jon Stewart (who signed a multi-year partnership with the company) will see his first project for Apple TV+, a current affairs show dubbed “The Problem with Jon Stewart,” premiere globally September 30 alongside a companion podcast.
