Libhooker updated to v1.6.3 with support for proper userspace reboot on Odysseyra1n

If your jailbreak depends on libhooker for its primary method of tweak injection (I’m looking at you Odyssey and Taurine users), then you should find a new update is available upon launching Sileo and refreshing your sources.

In an announcement shared early this morning in the Sileo / Taurine / Odyssey Discord channel, project lead developer CoolStar announced that libhooker version 1.6.3 is now available to all users.

While libhooker is primarily used by the Odyssey and Taurine jailbreaks, it’s also relevant to checkra1n users that have deployed m Odysseyra1n for a Odyssey/Taurine-like user experience on a checkra1n’d device. As it just so happens, today’s libhooker update is especially for those users.

As noted by CoolStar, libhooker v1.6.3 introduces proper userspace reboot support to Odysseyra1n users. In fact, CoolStar says that it should be almost up to par with the userspace reboot user experience on a dedicated Odyssey’d or Taurine’d handset.

If you didn’t already know, a userspace reboot is a software-based alternative to a hardware reboot that restarts most system services in nearly the same way. The obvious benefit is that when using a tethered, semi-tethered, or semi-untethered jailbreak, users wont need to re-jailbreak after performing a userspace reboot as opposed to how they would after conducting a full hardware reboot.

As always, the libhooker update is recommended for all Odyssey, Odysseyra1n, and Taurine users and is hosted by the respective jailbreak’s default repository in the Sileo package manager app.
