Just in time for “Ted Lasso” Season 2, Apple is now offering both new and existing Apple TV+ subscribers who own a PlayStation 5 six months of Apple TV+ at no charge.

Sony and Apple offer free Apple TV+ to PS5 owners
According to the terms published on the official PlayStation website, this time-limited promotion starts now and ends through a year from today. In other words, eligible PlayStation 5 owners must redeem this offer through the console before July 22, 2022.
Like with other free trials, you’ll be charged the normal rate of $4.99 per month once your free trial has expired. If you don’t want to continue with the Apple TV+ service after six months, you can cancel the subscription at any time on your Apple device.
The timing of this promotion couldn’t have been better—the second season of the hit Apple TV+ show “Ted Lasso” starts streaming on Friday, July 23.
On top of that, other original series and films are coming soon to Apple TV+, including the highly anticipated adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi novel “Foundation”, a new season of “See” starring Jason Momoa, “The Problem with Jon Stewart” and more.
Promotion terms
Both new and existing Apple TV+ subscribers can take advantage of this promotion.
This includes people who are already on a free trial. Those already subscribed to Apple TV+ through Apple One or other subscription bundles are not eligible to redeem the offer. Redemption via a desktop computer or mobile device is not possible.
The offer can only be redeemed once per console.
How to get 6 months of Apple TV+ for free
To redeem this offer, you must have PlayStation Network and Apple ID accounts and of course own a PlayStation 5 console with the latest firmware installed.
- Power up your PlayStation 5.
- On the PlayStation 5 home screen, select the “Media” section.
- Download the Apple TV+ app from the “All Apps” section.
- Open the Apple TV app you just downloaded and follow the instructions.
- In the TV app, sign in with your Apple ID.
Congratulations, you now have six free months of Apple TV+.
If you don’t own a PlayStation 5 console (any model will do), you’re ineligible for the promo.
Is this promotion worth the effort?
The extended six-month Apple TV+ free trial is a very enticing offer, more so when you take into account that Apple TV+ currently offers free 7-day and one-month trials when signing up for the service directly or through an Apple One subscription bundle, respectively.
You only get three free months of Apple TV+ when buying a new Apple device.
