Apple TV app offering a month of Paramount+ for free for a limited time

Every once in a while, Apple slips in a free promotion or two for streaming services that aren’t its own. Sometimes it gets some fanfare in the Apple TV app, other times not so much. So if you missed that you can get a free month’s worth of the (relatively) new Paramount+ streaming service, don’t feel bad.

As reported first by The Mac Observer, Apple is offering up a month’s worth of Paramount+ for those interested. At the time of publication it appears that the free offer is only available for folks in the United States. And, more importantly, there’s a limited time to sign up: until June 30, 2021, to be exact.

To be eligible, you’ll need to be a new subscriber to Paramount+. And, most importantly, you’ll need to sign up for the streaming service via the Apple TV app.

The official Apple TV Twitter account tweeted out the promotion earlier today as well:

If you take advantage of the promotion, you’ll get a wealth of content to look through. With your Paramount+ access, you’ll be able to watch shows and films from services like Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, BET, Paramount Pictures, CBS, and more. Once the free promotion ends, you can decide to cancel it, pay $4.99 per month for an ad-supported option, or the whole $9.99 per month for the ad-free experience.

As you can imagine, Paramount+ is an “Apple TV Channel.” That means you can sign up for the service directly through the app, and it will sync with the Watch Now feature in Apple’s app as well. Paramount+ has an app for the Apple TV, the iPhone, and iPad.
