Apple Music goes ‘beyond stereo’ in new Spatial Audio ad

Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos is one of the newest features available for Apple Music subscribers. The best part is that it’s free, a boost to the audio experience without boosting the monthly price. Now, Apple’s promoting the new feature in a brand new ad.

The new spot is almost 40 seconds and it’s already making the rounds on TV. You can check it out below. In it, we get to hear “Mystery Lady” by Masego & Don Toliver. Here’s how Apple describes the new spot:

Hear sound all around with Spatial Audio ft. Dolby Atmos. Now on Apple Music.

As you have probably heard by now (no pun intended), and as you can see in the ad, Spatial Audio on Apple Music is designed to give the listener a surround sound experience. To make it feel like you’re right there with the artists recording the music.

Right now, there are thousands of songs available in Spatial Audio on Apple Music. Apple says there will be more tracks added to the streaming service down the road. And, as Eddy Cue has said, the company believes this is the next big thing for music in general — ultimately replacing stereo as the go-to option.

We’ll have to wait and see how that turns out.
