Apple seeds first macOS Big Sur 11.3 beta to developers

Earlier this week, Apple released macOS Big Sur 11.2 to the public. Now that that’s out there in the wild, the push to the next update begins.

Apple on Tuesday seeded the first beta of macOS Big Sur 11.3 to developers. It’s available now for registered developers. As is par for the course, this is prerelease software and it should not be installed on daily drivers. It’s meant entirely for testing purposes. Still, Apple will likely seed a corresponding public beta of the same software in the near future, for public beta testers.

Developers can use the Software Update option in System Preferences to download the update. The prerelease software can also be downloaded from Apple’s Developer Center.

As far as what’s new? That remains to be seen. It’s likely that this update will be a minor one, and Apple is more than likely focusing on behind-the-scenes fixes and improvements. However, it is possible Apple will add some new functionality to the desktop operating system, too. After all, the last update was primarily focused on software improvements and bug fixes.

If there are any additional features or changes discovered in the first beta, we will update this post accordingly.
