Watch Apple’s smooth video introduction to the new AirPods Max headphones

You’ve seen the inaugural ad for the AirPods Max, Apple’s just-announced headphones, and now it’s time to watch its official video walkthrough of the $549 audio accessory.

Although it’s not in Apple’s “Jony-Ive-in-a-white-dungeon” style, the 130-second video introduction to the AirPods Max is nicely narrated and informative nonetheless. For instance, you can clearly see in the video that the ear cushions attach magnetically. Evans Hankey, Apple’s Vice President of Industrial Design, talks about the AirPods Max design in the video, including premium materials and build quality.

And here it is.

The premium headphones feature high-fidelity audio, adaptive EQ, active noise cancellation, spatial audio for theater-like sound that surrounds you, zero-configuration iCloud pairing etc.

They’re available to pre-order starting today for $549 in the United States and 24 other countries and regions from apple.com and in the Apple Store app. The AirPods Max will begin shipping next Tuesday, December 15. The audio accessory requires Apple devices running iOS 14.3, iPadOS 14.3, macOS Big Sur 11.1, watchOS 7.2 or tvOS 14.3 or later.
