So, we’ve put together a quick list of some of the cases you can buy right now for the iPhone 12 lineup. Some are pre-orders, but most will arrive either on the day your iPhone will arrive on launch day (October 23), or pretty close to it.
So, let’s get right to it.
Cases for the iPhone 12/12 Pro, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 12 Pro Max you can buy right now
- Apple Silicone Case
- Apple Clear Case
- Twelve South
- Apple Leather Case
- OtterBox Defender
The Raptic case for the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max is designed to offer a tough layer of protection, but not add a ridiculous amount of bulk. This case is certified to exceed Military Grade Drop Test standards (MIL-STD-810G), which means it can survive a fall from up to 13 feet (4 meters).
To help with that, the Raptic case features machined aluminum alloy reinforcement on the top and bottom of the outside of the case. On the inside, there is a soft bubble pattern which will not only absorb the shock, but deflect it away from the phone.
The case features raised edges around the display, as well as around the rear cameras. Raptic also says the case supports wireless charging, but it doesn’t specifically note support for MagSafe wireless chargers.
The Raptic cases, which come in a variety of colors and fit each iPhone 12 variant, are available to buy now. They should arrive early next week, depending on your shipping choices.
First, let’s note that, at the time of publication, availability for Apple’s Silicone Case for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is a little all over the place. Some accessories won’t be back in stuck until October 29, while others are available now. So you may have to wait a bit for this one.
However, Apple’s Silicone Case is always one of the best out there, and this one supports the company’s new wireless charging MagSafe standard. The exterior of the case is smooth to the touch, and there is a soft microfiber lining on the inside to help prevent scratches on the iPhone while it’s in the case.
With the MagSafe support built in, you’ll be able to keep the case on and still wirelessly charge your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro. What’s more, the built-in magnets offer a quick and painless attach and detach to make installation and removal simple.
The Silicone Case with MagSafe is available in these colors: White, Red, Plum, Pink Citrus, Kumquat, Deep Navy, Cypress Green, and Black. They’re available to buy now from Amazon.
Speck’s offering cases for the full iPhone 12 lineup right now, and shipping should get you your new case early next week — even before the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro start arriving for early adopters. Speck says the CandyShell Pro case offers drop protection from up to 8 feet thanks to its dual-layer perimeter design. It also has a scratch-resistant soft-touch coating as well.
A raised bezel will help keep the display safe, and the same can be said for the rear cameras as well. Despite the great protection, Speck keeps thing slim like many other cases, so it should be pocket-friendly. What’s more, Speck’s case offers microban antimicrobial protection that reduces bacteria up to 99% on the case itself.
You can pick up Speck’s CandyShell Pro case for the iPhone 12/Pro, iPhone 12 mini, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max right now.
Totallee has cases for the iPhone 12 lineup in its entirety, but shipping is a bit all over the place at the time of publication. For the iPhone 12/iPhone 12 Pro, the earliest delivery date is October 27, so that’s a few days after the iPhone’s arrival for early adopters. But, it shouldn’t be too bad of a wait. Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 mini’s case and iPhone 12 Pro Max’s case arrive the earliest on October 25 and October , respectively.
With that out of the way, the Totallee Thin case is, as the name suggests, a very thin case. It definitely won’t add any bulk to your device as it measures in at just 0.02 inches thin. A raised lip around the camera and display will help protect them from minor drops, but this case is not designed to survive drops from as tall of heights as other cases.
Still, the Totallee case will keep your device free of scratches for every day use, and it will fit your iPhone 12 snugly so it won’t peel off with usage, either.
The Totallee Thin case for the iPhone 12 lineup is available in Frosted Black, Clear (soft), and Green. You can buy it now from Amazon.
The ESR Cloud Series case for the iPhone 12/iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 mini, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max is a liquid silicone rubber case. It has a smooth grip, which will make it comfortable to use throughout the day, every day. It’s slim and lightweight, but adds protection all around the device. There are raised lips to protect the rear cameras and the display.
Inside there’s a soft layer to help protect the iPhone against scratches while the case is installed. And the ultra-soft edges make sure that the case is easy to put on and take off when needed. The case also supports wireless charging as well.
The ESR Cloud Series case is available to buy now for all four iPhone 12 models, with shipping as early as next week. The case comes in three colors: black, orange, and navy blue.
Spigen’s Ultra Hybrid case for the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max is built around the hybrid design. It features a TPU bumper with a PC back, making it extra durable despite its relatively thin design. The back of the case is also clear, which means you can show off the color of your iPhone — even if you choose the Ultra Hybrid cases with the colored edges.
The raised bezels will keep the display and the rear cameras from laying on flat surfaces, and Spigen made sure to make the side buttons pronounced so they are easy to activate when needed. The company says the wide cutouts should fit most cables, too.
The case is available now, with deliveries as early as next week. You can pick up the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case in Crystal Clear, red, and matte black.
Unlike the other cases here, the Smartish Armor case is going to add some bulk to your handset, but not too much. It’s a rugged case, with a smooth TPU back, but with “grippy” sides to keep the handset from sliding out of your grip with daily usage. The grooved sides help with that, too. The case also features air pocket corners, which helps protect the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max from drops.
It supports wireless charging as well.
The Smartish Armor case is available now from Amazon in four different color options. Free delivery starts next week, ahead of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro’s October 23 launch.
Apple Clear Case
This clear case from Apple is designed to show off the color of your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro, but also offer full body protection. It covers the buttons, making them easy to use, but offers cutouts for the Lightning port and speakers on the bottom of the handsets.
The case itself is made from a combination of flexible materials and clear polycarbonate. It has a scratch-resistant coating, which is applied to the exterior and interior of the case. Apple says the case is designed to prevent yellowing over time as well.
This case supports MagSafe, which is Apple’s new wireless charging solution. It can easily attach and detach from the phone itself, making it easy to install or remove as needed.
The Clear Case for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is available now.
The BookBook case from Twelve South is available for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro now. The BookBook is made from top-of-the-line materials, including full-grain leather that will bring on a natural patina over time and with daily usage. There is microfiber on the inside of the case, which will prevent scratches on the phone while it’s in the case. There is a separate magnetic case as well, which features raised edges, to protect the display and rear camera system.
The BookBook offers full protection, and can protect the display when the case is closed. It can also be used as a viewing stand when you’re watching something on your phone. The BookBook also offers dedicated slots to hold up to four cards, including a windowed slot for a driver’s license or other ID.
The separate magnetic case fits perfectly within the BookBook as a whole, and it’s also possible to be removed from the larger case and used separately. This means you can take the phone out of the BookBook case and use the thinner option for wireless charging.
The BookBook for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is available now.
Apple Leather Case
Apple’s leather cases for the iPhone lineup haven’t changed much over the years, but they’re still a great choice for someone looking to protect their iPhone and want that leather feel. This case is made from specially tanned and finished leather, with a soft-to-the-touch feel that will develop a natural patina over time and with regular use. It’s a thin case, so it won’t add any bulk.
The Leather Case for the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max features MagSafe, so it will align perfectly with the handset and snap securely into place. This means the case also supports wireless charging, so you won’t have to take it off to charge your iPhone wirelessly.
The Leather Case for the iPhone 12 lineup is available now from Amazon in Saddle Brown, Black, (PRODUCT)RED, Baltic Blue, and California Poppy.
OtterBox Defender Series
The Defender Series from OtterBox is designed to offer up plenty of protection, while adding a bit of bulk. There is a solid inner shell, and a soft outer cover for a multilayered protective design. Meanwhile, on the back of the case there is a built-in belt-clip holster, which also doubles as a kickstand so you can prop up your iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, or iPhone 12 Pro Max as you watch some media.
There are full port covers to help keep out dust and other debris, but pronounced external buttons on the case to make sure you can still adjust volume and quickly activate Silent Mode.
The Defender Series case for the iPhone 12 lineup comes in Teal, Blue, Camouflage, Black, and Red. It’s available now from Amazon.
