Prolific leaker Jon Prosser is saying that Apple’s rumored head-mounted augmented reality accessory would drop between March and June of next year, later than originally anticipated.
Prosser’s information contradicts yesterday’s report by TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who doesn’t believe the accessory would arrive before 2022 as it’s taking a few years to develop.
“I can’t believe I’m going against Kuo on this one,” wrote Proser, adding he believed Kuo was wrong because Apple Glasses, as he’s calling the product, “are aimed for March-June 2021”.

According to Kuo’s note to clients, GIS will be Apple’s primary partner for the expensive lens lamination process. The accessory would apparently require multiple layers of lamination to “create an innovative mixed reality and augmented reality user experience.”
In October 2019, the well-connected analyst predicted that an augmented reality headset with a shiny Apple logo on it would arrive in early 2020, but that obviously hasn’t come true. The following month, The Information reported that Apple’s first augmented reality headset would drop in 2022, with an augmented reality glasses to follow in 2023.
