Apple TV+ shares a first look at the upcoming thriller ‘Defending Jacob’

Despite lackluster initial reviews, Apple TV+‘s original content has started to really show off. Apple is hoping to keep the ball rolling with its upcoming thriller series Defending Jacob.

The upcoming drama stars Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey), and Jaeden Martell (It). It focuses on a story of a small town rocked by a “shocking crime”, and just how much strain a family can take. The series asks, “What boundaries would you cross for the ones you love?” If the series caught your eye when Apple TV+ published the official trailer earlier this year, this first look behind-the-scenes may be enough to ramp up the excitement.

Here’s Apple’s official description for Defending Jacob, which launches on Apple TV+ on April 24:

In this gripping, character-driven thriller, a shocking crime rocks a small Massachusetts town and one family in particular, forcing an assistant district attorney to choose between his sworn duty to uphold justice and his unconditional love for his son.

Evans, Mockery, and Martell are all part of the first look for the upcoming series, and it also includes some of the creative team as well. It’s certainly worth a look if you enjoy these types of short promos to hype up a show, which includes plenty of new footage.

The series also stars J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), Sakina Jaffrey (House of Cards), Pablo Schreiber (American Gods), Betty Gabriel (Get Out), and Cherry Jones (Signs).

I’ve heard good things about this series from folks who’ve been able to check it out ahead of the launch on April 24. It’s definitely one my most anticipated series coming to Apple’s original video streaming service. April 24 can’t come soon enough.

But how do you feel about Defending Jacob? Are you looking forward to checking it out later this month? Let us know in the comments!
