Amazon UK says the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro will be released on May 30

Apple unveiled a brand new Magic Keyboard accessory for the 2020 iPad Pro back in March, saying the accessory would launch sometime in May.

While Apple did tell us the price of the new Magic Keyboard for both the 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, we didn’t get an exact launch date, unfortunately. We still don’t have any official word from Apple on the matter, but we do know the accessory will arrive sometime in May. Well, as long as things stay on course, that is.

According to a listing on Amazon UK (via AppleInsider), the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro will be released on May 30, 2020. If you were hoping to see the same remark on the U.S. version, you’ll be a little disappointed because the U.S. storefront only says the accessory has not been released. You can pre-order the new Magic Keyboard if you want, but there’s still no specific mention of a launch date.

So, does this mean that we should circle the calendar for May 30 right now? Probably not. Not in pen, anyway. This is more than likely just a placeholder and nothing more. Of course, it’s also certainly possible that Apple could launch the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro on that date, which would still make the company technically accurate.

The Magic Keyboard is made for the 11- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, both the 2018 and 2020 models in each case. It will retail for $299 for the 11-inch model, and $349 for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. It features a full-size keyboard with backlit keys and the scissor mechanism. The built-in trackpad supports multitouch gestures (which you can check out right here), and there is a USB-C port for passthrough charging, which will leave the USB-C port available on the iPad Pro itself.
