New thriller “Defending Jacob” starring Chris Evans is hitting Apple TV+ on April 24

Apple announced yesterday that a new character-driven thriller, titled “Defending Jacob,” will makes an exclusive debut on the Apple TV+ video subscription service on Friday, April 24.

The first three episodes will debut simultaneously on April 24 and new episodes will be arriving weekly thereafter every Friday. “Defending Jacob” features Chris Evans along with Michelle Dockery, Jaeden Martell, Cherry Jones, Pablo Schreiber, Betty Gabriel and Sakina Jaffrey.

Aside from starring, Captain America star Chris Evans also executive produces the show alongside Rosalie Swedlin and Adam Shulman who executive produce for Anonymous Content.

Here’s Apple’s description of “Defending Jacob”:

A gripping, character-driven thriller based on the 2012 New York Times best-selling novel of the same name. The limited drama series unfolds around a shocking crime that rocks a small Massachusetts town and one family in particular, forcing an assistant district attorney to choose between his sworn duty to uphold justice and his unconditional love for his son.

The show is being produced by Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content. It was created, written and executive produced by Mark Bomback, who also serves as showrunner. The series is directed by Morten Tyldum, who serves as executive producer, too.
