Incipio launches ‘Organicore’ eco-friendly cases for iPhone 11

If you are in the market for a new environmentally friendly case for your iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro, Incipio has some options for you.

Incipio, which is one of the more popular third-party accessory makers out there, has just announced a brand new lineup of eco-friendly phone cases. This has been a movement for some time for smaller brands, but it appears it’s starting to go mainstream, as noted today by The Verge. Incipio joining the fray is certainly an interesting and noteworthy entry into the market.

To get there, Incipio’s cases are made from a plant-based material that’s called “Organicore”. The original report says it’s expected to “break down in as little as six months in an industrial compost setting”, however, those compost locations can be difficult to locate. What’s more, compostable plastic alternatives can only break down if they are deported into an approved facility.

The cases use water-based ink, and the cases are completely recyclable. They support wireless charging and can survive drops from up to six feet.

The cases are available beginning today from Incipio’s website. They retail for $39.99, and they’re available for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Color options are: green, stone gray, deep pine, black, and oatmeal beige.

Incipio says that additional smartphone options are on the way, as well as cases for tablets. What’s more, Incipio plans on offering case options for the AirPods, too.
