Zebra v1.0.2 update addresses issue with upgrading Cydia Substrate

Following the official public debut of the Zebra package manager on New Year’s Day, the project received its first update yesterday with a generous handful of bug fixes and improvements. But a subsequent update released early Friday morning brought Zebra up to version 1.0.2.

Zebra v1.0.2 isn’t as significant of an update as v1.0.1 was, but it’s something that checkra1n and unc0ver users will want to install if they’ve decided to try the young package manager.

According to the change log posted on the project’s official GitHub page, Zebra v1.0.2 addresses an issue that would occur when trying to update of the latest version of Cydia Substrate released just hours ago by Sam Bingner.

Both the checkra1n and unc0ver jailbreaks use Cydia Substrate for tweak injection, and its importance to the stability of jailbreak tweaks on a pwned handset speaks to why users of these jailbreaks will want to grab this update. Chimera users needn’t fret about Cydia Substrate-oriented stuff, as that jailbreak uses Substitute instead; unc0ver users on A12(x) also take advantage of Substitute.

Those using the Zebra package manager can grab this update from the official Zebra repository in any of the device’s installed package managers. If it doesn’t appear immediately, then you may need to refresh your sources.

If you haven’t installed Zebra yet and you’d like to give it a chance, then you can follow our step-by-step tutorial for doing so. Zebra supports jailbroken iOS 9 through 13 devices.
