macOS Catalina 10.15.2 adds a column browser to the Music app, fixes album artwork issues

When Apple debuted the macOS Catalina software in October 2019, some functionality got removed from the new Catalyst-powered Music app. including  a column browser for easy management of your music in the discontinued iTunes app. With the macOS Catalina 10.15.2 update, Mac owners can now use the iTunes column browser in the new Music app.

Both the column browser and the option to display artwork in the songs layout never made it into the inaugural version of the Music app in macOS Catalina 10.15.0. I’m happy to report that both options are now available in the Music app on macOS Catalina 10.15.2.

macOS Catalina 10.15.2 includes other improvements for the Music app.

Aside from resolving an issue that could prevent your album artwork from appearing, the software update has fixed an issue that might reset music equalizer settings during playback.

And last but not least, you can now use the iTunes Remote app on your iPhone or iPad to control the Music and TV apps on your Mac, which is yet another popular iTunes feature that got lost when Apple split out iTunes into separate Music, TV and Podcasts apps.

Are you glad that macOS Catalina 10.15.2 has fixed the album artwork problem and brought the super-useful iTunes column browser?
