More than a month after releasing macOS Catalina 10.15.1 for public consumption, Apple today dropped a fourth beta of what would become the second major update to its macOS Catalina desktop operating system powering the Mac computers.
The refreshed beta software with a build number “19C56a” is now available to members of the Apple Developer Program through the Software Update mechanism on Mac computers with an appropriate configuration profile installed or through Apple’s portal for developers.
Apple hasn’t highlighted any major areas of interest for beta 4 testers.
As a matter of fact, the official changelog only mentions one new feature: the addition of certain top-level domains such as .dev and .app in the Foundation URLSession and NSURLConnection HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) preload list.
Apple seeded macOS Catalina 10.15.2 beta 3 to developers on November 20. The second beta dropped on November 13 while the first beta arrived on November 7. The public release of macOS Catalina 10.15.2 is likely weeks away given that we’re now on the fourth beta.
The previous macOS Catalina 10.15.1 update, released in October, brought out support for the new AirPods Pro wireless earbuds along with a few tweaks and improvements focused primarily on improving the overall performance and usability of the desktop operating system.
