Swedbank in Sweden will support Apple Pay soon

Apple Pay has been available in Sweden since 2017. But one of the biggest banks in the region has been missing out on support.

That will be changing in the near future, though. Swedbank, which is one of the largest banks in Sweden, will be welcoming support for Apple Pay “soon”. However, while the banking establishment is more than happy to announce incoming support, it is not going out of its way to announce any specific date that customers will be able to actually use the mobile payment option.

Swedbank made the announcement on Twitter (via MacRumors).

When Apple Pay does arrive for bank customers, they will be able to add their Swedbank credit card directly into the Wallet app. Once that’s done, customers will be able to use Apple Pay wherever contactless payments are supported, either from their supported iPhone or Apple Watch. Of course, customers will be able to use Apple Pay within some apps and on the web as well.

If you’re in Sweden and a customer of Swedbank, are you excited about the incoming support for Apple Pay?
