While Apple occasionally slaps a fresh coat of paint on your Home screen’s app icons, the grid-centric Home screen functionality has remained mostly unchanged since the very first iteration of iOS. That said, it should come as no surprise to anyone that changing the layout of the Home screen is one of the most popular things to do with a jailbroken iPhone or iPad.
If you’re one to tinker with the Home screen’s layout, and you’ve recently jailbroken iOS 12 with Chimera or unc0ver, then you might take a liking to a newly-released jailbreak tweak called Iconator2 (iOS 12) by iOS developer Soh Satoh.
As you can discern for yourself in the screenshot examples provided above, Iconator2 delivers all kinds of flexibility in terms of changing your Home screen’s app icon layout. With it, you can change the number of rows and columns you can have and adjust the spacing between icons, among other things.
From what we can gather, the Home screen menu provides the following options to users:
- Change the number of app icon rows you have
- Change the number of app icon columns you have
- Configure a custom top inset
- Configure a custom bottom inset
- Configure custom side insets
- Adjust the application icon size
- Adjust the Dock application icon size
- Adjust the application label positioning
- Adjust the Folder application icon size
- Adjust the Folder application label positioning
- Change the number of app icon rows you have in Folders
- Change the number of app icon columns you have in Folders
- Change the number of app icon rows you have in landscape mode
- Change the number of app icon columns you have in landscape mode
- Adjust the icon radius of your Home screen’s application icons
Upon changing the presets, you can then toggle translucent mode on or off and then save your settings, restore your old settings, or revert back to Apple’s default settings.

Upon installing Iconator2, you’ll also find a dedicated preference pane in the Settings app where you can configure your device to your preferred standards:

- Resize Home screen icon badges
- Hide or show Home screen page dots

- Hide or show application icon indicators
- Move the Lock screen’s time and date via sliders
- Wake the device faster
- Hide the widget footer
You may want to respring your device after making changes to the settings.
