Reminder: complete a timed yoga exercise today to win a virtual trophy, iMessage stickers

As predicted earlier this week, Apple is honoring the International Day of Yoga by challenging Apple Watch wearers to complete a 15-minute yoga exercise today, Friday, June 21.

Apple’s notification announcing the challenge reads as follows.

On June 21, celebrate the International Day of Yoga by earning this award with a yoga workout of 15 minutes or more. Record your time with any app that adds yoga workouts to Health.

You can record your workout with any app that tracks yoga exercises to the Health app, you don’t have to use Apple’s own Workout app for that. Completing today’s challenge will earn you a trophy in the Activity app on your iPhone along with a trio of different yoga-related animated stickers that can be shared in Messages and FaceTime.

Yoga was added as a new workout type to the Apple Watch software with the release of watchOS 5 update last fall. Supporting yoga workouts natively permits your Apple Watch to accurately track active calories burned and exercise minutes earned.

This is the first time the iPhone maker has marked the International Day of Yoga. The previous Activity challenge was issued back on Earth Day of this year.
