Redesigned Apple Pencil comes with new tap gestures, now snaps onto iPad Pro to charge wirelessly

The second-generation Apple Pencil was announced at Apple’s special event which also included the introduction of the 2018 iPad Pro models. The input device offers two new features that make it a winner. 

The new Apple Pencil is the first that will auto-charge when attached to the iPad Pro. It attaches to the tablet automatically with magnets. It includes a new touch sensor that can detect taps, which is a new way you can interact with apps on your iPad Pro.

Along with the 2018 iPad Pro models and next-generation Smart Keyboard Folio, the second-generation Apple Pencil goes on sale beginning today, Oct. 30 and arrives in stores on Wednesday, Nov. 7.

The new Apple Pencil is priced at $129.
