Imgur for iOS gains search and revamped interface

Imgur for iOS redesign

After relaunching its iOS app and introducing an all-new interface in the Android client three months ago, Imgur today announced a major revamp of its iPhone and iPod touch application, a free download in the App Store.

For starters, the app has at last gained a Search feature so you can search for specific viral posts on the service. The app’s grid view has been redesigned to show bigger thumbnails, push notifications have been improved and profile screens revamped for a more pleasing appearance.

Imgur changelog

The following changes are highlighted in release notes:

  • The top two requests we heard from the community in regards to our iOS app was adding in a grid view that shows bigger thumbnails including more details like headlines and votes, and the ability to Search. We’re always listening to users and taking feedback, and we’re excited to share that both of these features are now available on iOS.
  • With this app update, we’re also introducing:
  • Revamped profile screens & better notifications, so you can see when your content starts going viral and when you earn new trophies.

Imgur allows you to browse, search and discover viral stories, upload and share your own trending posts and images with others, comment and vote on your favorite posts and more. The app lacks a native interface on iPads.
