Apple has just named “Magnetized” its App of the Week for this week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you’ll be able to download the abstract physics puzzler for both iPhone and iPad for free—an awesome savings of $2.99.
In Magnetized, you are tasked with navigating a moving ball through a series of neon mazes using magnetic control points. It sounds simple at first, but the mazes get increasingly difficult, forcing you to try and master momentum and direction.
From Apple’s App Store Editors’ Notes:
Sharpen your wits and your reflexes with this physics-based puzzler. Aim a constantly moving ball down twisted paths, tapping magnetic control points to change course. As the mazes get crazier and your control options expand, each stage delivers a rewarding mix of white-knuckle action and braind-brnding strategy.

Admittedly, the photos and video don’t do this game justice. You can’t really get a feel for the unique gameplay, or the beautiful retro theme—complete with 80’s-style soundtrack—without playing it. It’s certainly worth checking out while it’s on sale.
