Logitech introduces two new iPad mini folio cases

Logitech must really have a thing for the iPad mini, because for the third time in the last six months it’s introduced a new set of cases for Apple’s popular tiny tablet: the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio and the Folio Protective Case.

The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio is pitched as the company’s thinnest and lightest keyboard folio to date, and features all of the bells and whistles. And the Folio Protective is a hard cover case that doubles as a stand…

From Logitech’s press release (via Engadget):

“The iPad® mini you’ve been carrying around is super thin, light and great looking, and today Logitech is announcing two new products that can help you keep it that way: the Logitech® Ultrathin Keyboard Folio for iPad mini and Logitech® Folio Protective Case for iPad mini.

Designed with the mobility of the iPad mini in mind, these folios are precision-engineered with state-of-the-art materials, resulting in protective cases that are ultra-thin and ultra-light. Both folios offer two-sided protection, covering the front and back of your iPad mini with water-repellant materials, helping protect it from everyday bumps, scratches and spills.”

The Ultrathin Keyboard Folio is the more exciting of the two, as it features Bluetooth (4.0?) and of course, Logitech’s award -winning keyboard. It also has iOS shortcut keys for performing actions like cut, copy and paste.

There’s not much to the Folio Protective Case. Like the Ultrathin Keyboard Folio, it offers two-sided protection with water-repellant tech, and doubles as a stand. But with no keyboard, it’s more akin to Apple’s Smart Cover.

If you’re interested in either of these cases, they’ll be available later this month from Logitech’s website. The Ultrathin Keyboard model will run you $89.99, and the Folio Protective Case will cost $49.99.
