iTunes 11 takes cues from iOS in complete redesign

As expected, iTunes has been completely overhauled, and the changes look to be significant.

Taking obvious cues from the mobile space, albums open on the same screen, similar to folders on iOS. Along with the obvious visual differences comes new inline searching, and a mini player, which is sure to enthuse minimalists.

As we expected, Apple introduced some new price points for its current iPhone lineup alongside the new iPhone 5. As we just reported, Apple's new handset starts at the usual $199.

iOS 6 launches on September 19

Apple just finished introducing its next iPhone (yeah, they went with the iPhone 5 moniker) by saying that iOS 6 will be released for public consumption on September 19, a week from now and three days before the iPhone 5 is due to hit store shelves. The sixth major revision to Apple's mobile operating system is a free upgrade to owners of the iPhone 3GS/4/4S, fourth-generation iPod touch and iPad 2 and 3. iPhone 5 pricing and availability

Now that Apple's executive team has gone down the list of all of the iPhone 5's new features, it's time to get down to the important stuff. In wrapping up the iPhone presentation, Phil schiller announces pricing and availability.

For starters, the handset will come in the two usual flavors: white and black. And it will also come in the same three storage configurations: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB at the same $199, $299, and $399 respectively...

iPhone 5 has three microphones and an improved speaker design

Phil Schiller is still on stage at Apple's iPhone event and is going over new feature after new feature of the handset. It's got a 4-inch display, built-in LTE support, an A6 processor and a better battery.

And it also has a new and improved audio system. Apple upgraded both the microphones and the speakers in the iPhone 5, giving it new noise canceling features and "wideband" audio...

New smaller iPhone 5 Lightning connector confirmed

Apple officially unveiled its new connector called Lightning today at their iPhone press conference, just as the rumors suggested they would.

The new connector can be plugged in either way for ease of use, it's 80% smaller, and all digital. It'll no doubt compliment the new smaller form factor of the iPhone 5.

Apple's SVP of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller, is unveiling Apple's sixth-generation iPhone at a presser at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and he just took the wraps off the handset's camera subsystem. iPhone 5 features better battery life than iPhone 4S, even with LTE

Some impressive battery life statistics coming out of the iPhone 5 keynote right now. Battery life hasn't decreased with the addition of LTE, as some might image. In fact, it hasn't even stayed the same. No, Apple has exceeded the battery life levels present in the non-LTE enabled iPhone 4S.

With the iPhone 5, there's 8 hours of browsing or talk on either LTE or 3G, and 10 hours on WiFi browsing.
