Thor automatically enables Wi-Fi when launching specific apps

Thor is a recently released jailbreak tweak that will enable your device’s Wi-Fi connection whenever a certain app is launched. The settings panel for Thor includes around a dozen different apps like Tweetbot, Cydia, App Store, Safari, YouTube, etc.

If your Wi-Fi connection is disabled, and you have Tweetbot enabled in Thor’s settings, the Wi-Fi connection will automatically enable whenever you launch Tweetbot, or any other app you have enabled in Thor’s settings panel.

Thor would be much more useful if it had options to disable Wi-Fi after closing an app, along with options to enable it or disable Wi-Fi for any app. As it stands, the list of 13 included apps is a bit on the anemic side.

Thor has potential to be a really good jailbreak tweak, but as it stands, it seems a bit half baked. Sure, it’s nice to be able to ensure your Wi-Fi is enabled for launching certain apps, but the tweak would be so much better with just a bit more fine tuning.

If you would like to give it a shot, Thor is available for free on Cydia’s BigBoss repo. What do you think?
