15 Year-Old Gains World Record For Fastest Typing on an iPad

Remember when Apple announced the iPad way back in early 2010, and everyone said that typing on the tablet's 9.7" screen would be near-impossible?

Well, it turns out that over a year later, not only is it very possible, but one Georgian boy can even knock out the full English alphabet in just over 5 seconds.

500,000 iDevices Have Already Been Jailbroken with JailbreakMe

Talk about a hit! iOS jailbreak developer Chpwn just tweeted that JailbreakMe, which was released about 10 hours ago, has already been used to jailbreak 500,000 devices, including iPhones, iPads, and iPods. Also according to Chpwn, the website www.JailbreakMe.com has seen over 1,000,000 visitors in its short time online since Saffron was released.

I knew people had been waiting for JailbreakMe 3.0 to be released for a while, but the success of this jailbreak really shatters my expectations, and probably Comex's as well...

TinyUmbrella Updated for iOS 5 Beta 2

Just a heads up for you guys, notcom has announced his latest update to TinyUmbrella - now supporting iOS 5 Beta 2.

Expect a Thinner and Lighter iPhone this September

We've already been hearing confirmations that Apple's next iPhone will be released in Q3 of this year, specifically in September. The Wall Street Journal has now joined the fray by reporting that Apple, "has placed orders for key components used in a next-generation iPhone it is preparing to launch sometime in the third quarter, according to people familiar with the situation."

According to The WSJ, the next gen iPhone will sport an 8-megapixel camera, Qualcomm baseband chips, and boast a thinner/lighter design. Nothing was said about the GSM/CDMA world phone rumor, but it's still expected that the iPhone 5 will operate on both carrier basebands.

Activator lets you assign activation gestures to any application. A common example of this is swiping the status bar left or right to bring up SBSettings. It can be highly customized and best of all, it's free. Chances are if you already have some common well known jailbreak tweaks installed, Activator will already be on your device.
