TinyUmbrella 5.11.00 out with support for iOS 5.1.1

As most of you know, Apple released an update to iOS last week, bringing the firmware to 5.1.1. The new software doesn't contain much more than bug fixes, but if you updated to it, you'll want to save your SHSH blobs.

Luckily you can do that with the latest version of TinyUmbrella. NotCom has just released TU 5.11.00 with support for the latest version of iOS. And if you haven't been saving your SHSH blobs, you might want to start...

Loophole discovered that could allow A5 devices to downgrade from iOS 5.1

Folks with newer devices on iOS 5.1 will be happy to hear that iH8sn0w has uncovered a new loophole that could potentially allow users to downgrade their A5 gadgets to the more jailbreak-friendly iOS 5.0.1 in the near future.

As noted by Gadgetsteria, the Sn0wBreeze creator announced yesterday via his Twitter account that he has uncovered a "loophole" in Apple's APticket system that allowed him to downgrade his iPad 2 from 5.1 to 5.0.1...

TinyUmbrella updated with support for new iPad and Apple TV

It's not even Noon yet here on the west coast and today has already proven to be fairly eventful. Not only did Apple's new iPad go on sale around the world this morning, but the tablet was jailbroken within hours.

And now we've learned that NotCom has just updated TinyUmbrella to version 5.10.08. The new software, which saves your devices' SHSH Blobs, now includes support for the new Apple TV and yes, the new iPad...

How to jailbreak iOS 5.1 with Redsn0w 0.9.10b6

iOS 5.1 has finally dropped, and for the most part we totally recommend staying away from the update if you care anything about your jailbreak, as does the iPhone Dev Team.

That being said, for those with older A4 devices, it is possible to enjoy a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1 and still downgrade back to previous firmwares if you have your SHSH blobs for those firmwares.

With A5 devices like the iPad 2, and the iPhone 4S, it is impossible at the moment to downgrade to any older iOS 5.x firmware, even if you have your SHSH blobs saved. So don't upgrade to 5.1, especially if you care about your iPhone 4S jailbreak.

If you have an iPhone 4, iPod touch, iPhone 3GS, or original iPad, then check inside for a tutorial on how to perform a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1...

Jailbreakers beware of iOS 5.1

With today's announcement, we're pretty sure that iOS 5.1 will be right around the corner, with a probable release of the Gold Master sometimes this week.

A few people on Twitter asked me to put up a friendly reminder that jailbreakers should make sure not to update to iOS 5.1 when it comes out, especially iPhone 4S owners...

Tiny Umbrella Developer Reminds Us to Save Our iOS 5.0.1 Blobs

Are you enjoying your newly jailbroken devices as much as we are? If so, you may want to make sure that you have saved your iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs. If not, you could risk losing the ability to jailbreak in the future.

It's been over a month since Apple released iOS 5.1 beta 3, so it wouldn't surprise us to see a public release sometime in the near future. And from what we've heard, the new software will patch the Corona exploit...

How to Permanently Preserve Your iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak

If you've been paying attention to the jailbreak scene lately, then you've heard the warnings about preparing for Apple's next counter move against jailbreakers. The question is this: have you heeded it?

It's imperative that you update to iOS 5.0.1 now and save your SHSH blobs across all devices, including the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. That way, you can always downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 later, which means you will always have access to an untethered jailbreak.

We'll show you how to create a firmware file for your A4 devices that can always be jailbroken. We'll also tell you what to do to preserve the jailbreakability of your A5 devices as well. If you haven't done this yet, now is the time to act...

TinyUmbrella Updated With Support For Second iPhone 4S iOS 5.0.1 Build

TinyUmbrella has been updated with support for saving SHSH blobs on the second build of iOS 5.0.1 that Apple released weeks ago for the iPhone 4S. As you cautioned earlier today, it's important to update to the latest iOS firmware and save your SHSH blobs for the untethered jailbreak.

iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users could be getting an untethered jailbreak as soon as next week, so now is the perfect time to update iOS and save your blobs!

Potential Jailbreakers Should Update to iOS 5.0.1 Before It’s Too Late!

It's a busy and exciting time for the jailbreak community. In the last couple of weeks we've seen the iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak for A4-based devices go live in the form of RedSn0w, PwnageTool, and The Chronic Dev Team's Corona tool. Moments ago we announced that the security expert known as pod2g expects to drop the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users next week.

Now is the time to update to Apple's latest firmware, iOS 5.0.1. Even if you rely on an UltraSn0w unlock, you should update as soon as possible before it's too late to get the untethered jailbreak on 5.0.1.

TinyUmbrella Updated for Apple TV 4.4.3

We just told you about the upcoming release of an untethered jailbreak for Apple TV 4.4.3. Just like TinyUmbrella's developer mentioned, now might be the right time to save your SHSH blobs for your Apple TV:

Sorry I skipped this version. I've updated TU to work with Apple TV 4.4.3. For those of you with Apple TV 2 - be ABSOLUTELY sure you have your 4.4.3 SHSH for your device... It may be QUITE important.

Better safe than sorry!
