Power Saver Mode iOS 8.3

iOS 9 has some significant new power saving features that will lend users up to an additional three hours of battery life. Dubbed Low Power Mode in iOS 9, users can eek out up to an extra 3 hours of battery life with the option enabled.

Low Power Mode works by disabling animated wallpapers, Mail Fetch, Background App Refresh, motion effects, and, as recently discovered, throttling the CPU.

Power Saver Mode, a new iOS tweak developed by Elijah Frederickson, tries its best to provide many of the same benefits to jailbroken iPhone users on iOS 8. Power Saver Mode increases contrast, enables Reduce Motion, disables Background App Refresh, location services, Cellular Data when on Wi-Fi, and more.

Power Saver Mode Options 2

Power Saver Mode has some of the same features as Low Power Mode, but the CPU throttling, a feature that is sure to pay major dividends, isn’t present in Power Saver Mode.

Once you install Power Saver Mode, you’ll see a Battery panel in the root of the stock Settings app, similar to what you’ll find in iOS 9. And, like iOS 9, the battery icon in the status bar changes to a yellow color to make you aware of the fact that you’re in the battery saving mode.

Power Saver Mode Settings

Along with the Power Saving Mode toggle, the tweak provides users with a Power Saving Options section for picking and choosing the type of options that are enabled upon activating the tweak. Here are some of the options you’ll find:

  • Turn off AutoBrightness
  • Disable Auto Downloads
  • Disable Background App Refresh
  • Disable Bluetooth if no connected devices
  • Disable Cellular Data if on WiFi
  • Increase Contrast
  • Disable Location Services
  • Reduce Motion
  • Turn off ringer

Power Saver Mode will automatically disable whenever your iPhone is plugged into a power source. Like iOS 9, the tweak provides you with Battery Life suggestions as well, such as suggesting that you enabling Auto-Lock to keep the screen from staying on.

Battery Life SUggestions Power Saver Mode

Even without the CPU throttling options, from the sheer amount of features that can be disabled with just one switch, it’s obvious that Power Saver Mode will have some tangible impact on your battery life. Oh, and it works with Flipswitch and Activator as well for quick toggling.

Needless to say, Elijah Frederickson’s Power Saver Mode is a highly impressive tweak, and I’m sure many will absolutely love it. I know that a good lot of jailbreakers are extremely battery conscious, so this will definitely be a tweak that appeals to the masses.

you my friend are an idiot

      • Joshua The-Legend Wiebe

That doesn’t make sense, to call me an idiot for correcting someone.

**Can I install it on iOS 8.3? Would it work well at saving my battery?

      • GustaMusta

Wow, we have got a grammar teacher 😉

  • iltas

    Is it save battery life

    • Joshua The-Legend Wiebe

My god.. English isn’t your best language.

      • coLin

        Ok, so?

      • Joshua The-Legend Wiebe

So learn to type properly or there won’t be confusions.

      • Come on then, speak another language for us. At least iltas has the guts to type in a language that is not his native language.
Just go back to Reddit or something.

      • Joshua The-Legend Wiebe

اذا كنت استطيع التحدث بهذه اللغة ، ثم يمكن لأي شخص أن يتكلم لغات أخرى

      • Chris

While I don’t condone this behaviour at all, it’s hard to trust you wrote that. All-in-all, you aren’t in any position to correct someone if English isn’t their first language, you don’t know them, therefore, you can’t judge their mistakes considering your own in your initial reply.

      • GustaMusta

        HAHAHA

        RIP Google Translator

Your bad luck, that i’m in Arab. Here is the correct one

إذا كنت استطيع التحدث بهذه اللغة فبالتبعية أى شخص يستطيع أن يتحدث لغات أخرى

      • Damian

correcting is for bitches….so are you?

      • Kenan

you my friend are an idiot

  • Manuel Molina

Things I already do. Come on Apple, couldn’t you consider something better, like maybe a bigger battery and not the “we made our phone thinner while giving the same great battery life” PR crap you say every year. The battery life sucks, we don’t want it the same as before.

    • Rowan09

But they give a bigger battery every year and as stated the 6+ has great battery life. I don’t own a 6 but I heard the battery life is good as well.

      • Manuel Molina

The 6 battery life is the same as the 5S. The 6 Plus is decent and pretty good at best. Compare to other phones on the market: nonexistent.

      • Rowan09

The battery in the 6 is better than the 5S but I don’t own one to really compare real usage. The 6+ has basically a 3000 mAh battery which is the top of the line on devices. I believe the biggest battery on a top phone is about 3500mAh. I charge my 6+ to one hundred percent. Leave work at 5AM and get back at 6PM with around 30% percent left on my phone with moderate to heavy usage. I don’t know where you get this nonexistent thing from because it’s right there with every top of the line device. Battery life is not an issue with the 6+. No phone can give you 24hrs especially on moderate to heavy usage right now.

      • Manuel Molina

Yes, the battery is bigger on the 6, but remember that each year they increase the battery but it stays the same because each iOS takes more juice for new improvements. The plus is a good phone and I have one too. However, my battery hands a lot stuff like heavy use because I turn off a lot of features. The battery on the plus is a 2915, but I believe at 3100 to 3200 using iOS 9.0, this would be just amazing.

      • Anton Zuykov

“The battery on the plus is a 2915, but I believe at 3100 to 3200 using iOS 9.0, this would be just amazing.”
What? Number/version of iOS doesn’t change the battery capacity.

  • Melma

I Still Rocking 8.1.2 in my 6plus nd my battery last long , But HeyYy let me just try it Thank You.

  • Joshua The-Legend Wiebe

Lol * you’re also wrong.. And you DO install it ON the softwere, because iOS tweaks aren’t built in, they are added on iOS.

    • Remy

Either way, you understood what he meant. Stop being a “legend” and leave the guy alone. Correcting grammar on the Internet comments isn’t funny anymore, especially when you consider he probably has bad English as it won’t be his first language. So just give over.

      • Joshua The-Legend Wiebe

Oh? You’ve got me all wrong, I don’t do this for laughs or entertainment, I do this to teach him how to type properly. We’ve come to the age of the “smart” era and it’s time to understand the basic things including language. We have smart technology to help teach us and correct us, plus the ability to connect for help on an easier level. That’s all.

      • Damian

so how you about you start typing in polish language and i will start correcting you.

    • iltas

      We not fight here boss
Just needed help from this forum
if we have some prblm using tweaks
Better fight in face to face, not here

      • :D

I’d ignore him. He just thinks he’s better than everyone else when he’s not.

    • :D

Don’t even get me started on this one.

Why don’t you try correcting me for a change? I’ve lived here in London my entire life and I write for a living.

Don’t go around trying to correct people’s grammar if you make mistakes yourself. Not such a legend now, are you?

      A**hole

      • Joshua The-Legend Wiebe

I didn’t say I was perfect, everyone makes mistakes, I was just pointing it out to help him, I don’t see how that makes me an asshole. And quite freaky I don’t care if you’re an author or anything, it just didn’t make sense to me. Everyone’s got a bug up their ass for a little correction, all when it could’ve been searched on Google and would’ve been corrected there anyways.

      • :D

Firstly, I told you I write for a living to remind you that there are people out there with better English than you, not because I thought you’d care to know. Secondly, if it didn’t make sense to you, but it made sense to almost everyone else, maybe you were never in the best position to try to correct him in the first place. Besides, you’re not helping him in doing so – corrections like that are far too specific to have any meaningful impact on him. He has poor grammar and he most probably knows it. The only thing you’re doing is letting him down, especially by making such a big deal about it with comments like “My god.. English isn’t your best language”. I don’t know how long you’ve been using the Internet for, but you’re either very new to it or you’re an a**hole. You’re not supposed to go around correcting other people’s grammar or questioning their abilities; it’s basic etiquette. I spot mistakes all the time, even in the articles themselves. I see about half a dozen in your comment there, but I’m not going to point them out. It’s rude.

  • Sleetui

Would really love CPU throttling to be added. But I think it’s difficult to achieve since iOS has changed.

    • Anton Zuykov

it has it, at least that what it seems according to what results I got from geekbench. Duty cycle changed from 43% on iPhone6 to about 75%.

  • battosai

    Miss batterydoctor pro T^T

  • Manuel Molina

I have a plus; the battery is good but every iOS is more in battery life. Requesting better battery each year is the step up, not staying the same or going down like the 4S did after the 5, and like the 5S did after the 5.

  • :D

    Does this work on iPads?

  • Jax

This is nice for 8.4, should have a compatible button for ccsettings.
