IllLookLater 2

Do you find that many of your incoming notifications don’t warrant the awakening of the Lock screen on your iPhone? Perhaps you think that waking up your iPhone every time you receive a notification is a waste of precious battery.

If you feel that way, then you may want to look into IllLookLater, a recent jailbreak tweak that’s available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo free of charge. IllLookLater makes it so that you can limit the amount of apps that wake the Lock screen when receiving a notification. In other words, it lets you pick and choose the apps that you deem worthy.

The good thing about IllLookLater is that the notification audible alert still sounds, and like normal, your notifications will be waiting on you at the Lock screen. The big difference is that you can specify which apps have privileges to wake the screen.

After installing the tweak, venture over to the stock Settings app, and tap on the IllLookLater section in the preferences. There, you’ll find a list of kill-switches. Simply enable the kill-switch next to the app whose notifications you wish to suppress.

I tested out IllLookLater with the Messages app, and it worked just as described. I can see such an idea becoming a real asset to those who don’t want to waste any battery, and for those you who wish to obtain a bit more privacy when it comes to incoming notifications from specific apps.

Again, IllLookLater is available free of charge on the BigBoss repo. It works very well, and I recommend giving it a shot.

This tweak would have been cool if there was a jailbreak for 8.4 with the Watch so you will recieve the notification on your watch and not light up on your iphone, you catch what I’m saying?

Does the screen really light up even if you have paired an Apple Watch with your iPhone? Wow, I guess it wouldn’t have to.

I thought the whole idea of the watch was not to show notifications on the phone when it was paired….

I have a watch and have no idea what you are taking about. If your iPhone screen turns on when you get a notification on your watch, something is setup wrong.

while this is also supported when having intelliscreen x i installed this regardless, mainly so because IllLookLater has a nice list of all the apps rather than having to go through settings -> notification center -> each app. Really lovin it so far, with the amount of facebook notifications i normally get they were really draining my battery.

That’s a good tweak, I like the idea. Speaking of jailbreaking, this has to be one of the longer lulls we’ve had. The last jailbreak was back in November/December, being on 8.1 on my iPhone 6 has become a tad unbearable, could really use a clean restore right now. But being sans Activator, NoAnnoyance, CCSettings, NoSlowAnimations and Auxo LE simply won’t do!

i swear there was a longer wait from ios 4.3 to 5, or was ios 6 to 7 if u were waiting for a untethered jailbreak that is.

      • Mr_Coldharbour

I know there have been longer waits but as I said, this is ONE of the longer ones as it’s been more than 5 months. Patience is sort of wearing thin :-

For some reason I thought this was already a stock setting under Notifications posted as “Wake Screen”
