modern combat 5

Modern Combat 5, meet iPhone 6. Gameloft has just posted an update for the latest edition of its popular first-person shooter franchise, Modern Combat, with support for the larger displays found in Apple’s new 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch handsets.

Even casual gamers will immediately notice the difference after updating. Since Modern Combat 5 now supports the higher resolutions of the larger displays, it no longer has to upscale images, meaning graphics appear much cleaner and sharper.

Here’s a nice before and after comparison, courtesy of TouchArcade.

mc iphone 6 update

As the site points out, the difference probably isn’t as notable for iPhone 6 users, as there wasn’t a huge jump in resolution there. But for iPhone 6 Plus-carrying Modern Combat players, today’s update makes a huge difference in the game’s visuals.

Combine this with the iOS 8 Metal-update MC5 received earlier this month, and you have one of the best-looking games on mobile. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking out Modern Combat 5: Blackout in the App Store. It’s $6.99.

They’re not getting a single penny from me until it supports MFi controllers! (Controllers For All tweak!)

they wont add controller support in order to keep the game fair for everybody

I think everyone, whose phone/ipad can run the game, is able to buy a controller if they want, thats pretty fair

i agree with you i think their reasoning is unfair but im sure the jailbreak community will have a fix for this

I wonder how fun it would be on a 6 plus 🙂

    • As much fun as watching The fappening on a 6 plus?

    • burlow

probably as fun as an iPad mini

I agree Fanboy! It’s absolutely ridiculous after how many updates that they have provide AND, given the fact that other platforms already support game pads. I’m dying to use my DS4 Controller for this game. I’ve waited far too long. I refuse to play it until this change is made.
