If you’re a developer running iOS 6, try opening up the App Store app and open the Featured tab. As 9to5Mac points out, chances are you’ll be greeted with a new page promoting five free Apple apps.

The free apps include iBooks, iTunes U, Podcasts, Find My Friends, and Find My iPhone, and all can be installed at once using the “Download Free” button at the top of this new page. Take a look inside for more info…

Apple suggests:

To get the most out of your iPhone, we recommend these free apps from Apple.

The same page pops up on the iPad as well, except this time, Apple, of course, suggests that you get the most out of your iPad, instead of iPhone.

Are you getting exited for the public release of iOS 6? It’ll be here this Wednesday, September 19th.

hey, what is that status bar icon in between the percentage and the bluetooth icon on the iphone screenshot?

  • To be honest, I’m not all that excited about iOS 6. It was such a minor upgrade. I suppose it is always welcome, but I wish Apple would cook up something that no other device has. I hope when iOS 7 comes around, Apple decides to make it a somewhat major upgrade that adds in “200+” features that actually matter.
I’m still a fan of apple, but apple has been disappointing me lately with their iOS.

    • iOS 6 is not a “minor” update. 3/4 of the apps on the iPhone are redesigned! And alot of new cool + like non disturb, faster safari, improved keyboard…
But Yes, iOS 5 was a WAY WAY WAY bigger update :/
I hope that in ios 7 Apple will change the homescreen.

      • Yeah but there forcing you to upgrade to take advantage of the features. I have a iPhone 4 and there is nothing there that is new to me. No use upgrading.

I always like after a new iOS device launches you see all the legacy apps shoot right to the top of the app store.

How I see iOS 6: “An upgrade to the little things that matter”.
